22 weeks, 5 months

This morning after exercising, showering, and then standing in front of the mirror, I realized that my stomach has really gotten bigger!
As I went about my business today, I got about 4 people commenting on how big my stomach was getting. One teen boy said, "Whoa, Jan!! You're getting fat!!" haha!! He was, of course, joking and knew it was more than just fat.

My back has been sore and my nights have been restless and very uncomfortable. I've tried propping pillows in front and behind me, but I still find no comfort. :(
My lower abdomen is also a bit sore and at first I thought it was because I was lifting a few heavy things (we changed rooms/buildings), but now I'm starting to think that it's my muscles just stretching out.

I've got to take better photos. The reason why all my photos are blurry or fuzzy is because my camera is heavy, and when I have to hold it out with one hand AND take the photo my hand gets all shaky. :( Darn.

The above photo really makes me look like a big, fat, white whale! Bottom one is better.
Hey Mia, recognize the green wall mat behind me?

Photos of new room coming soon, after it's a bit more set up. Heh heh! I still have a few more baskets lying around that I need to sort through. :)

  1. oooo looks awesome. Love both photos. And your room is looking nice in the bg! yeah I remember the uncomfy nights. Max got me one of those long body pillows, they work a charm! Gave it to pegs when she was here. how did you take the second photo ..mirror? :D It's a tricky business this belly photo taking! lol

  2. You definitely have "popped" as compared to the last belly photos.
Your belly is lovely though and the background is nice :)

I'm sorry you're having back and lower belly pain. I know what you mean about not getting comfortable sleeping. I'm already having discomfort so I can only imagine it getting worse the larger the belly gets.
What I like to do before bed is a little stretch routine to loosen up the lower back. I stretch my hamstrings, pelvic tilts, and squats (do the kegels in squat position!).

Do you have an exercise ball? I highly recommend you get one if not! Just sitting on the ball and rocking your hips takes away a lot of lower back pain. It's also a great pain reliever apparently when you're having contractions. I'm only 14 weeks, but I've been rocking on the ball and my back feels so much better!

  3. Lils, the second photo was taken with a mirror. This time I cleaned it! haha! I'm really considering getting one of those long pillows. They're kinda expensive though, and if it doesn't work then...grrr...!

Meg, I like the idea of doing stretches before bed! I'll try that out. I haven't been doing those kegel exercises. I never think about it.
I don't have an exercise ball. I don't really know how to use it. It actually works? Maybe if I ever see it in a recycle store on sale I'll consider getting one. :)

    Thanks for the advise!

  4. Whoa, really did grow and it looks like a girl! Hope I`m wrong... both Gabe and I want you to have a boy, with green eyes too. They say when you have lots of back pain it`s usually a boy.
So sorry about the discomfort, today I`ll send you a long pillow that we don`t use, it`s not a preggo pillow but it might help.

  5. Mia, thanks so much for the pillows! I slept with the long pillow last night and boy, it did wonders! Josh said he was a bit squished, but it was better than me moving all over the place waking him up. :) Arigatou!

I'm actually thinking that it might be a girl too...
